lur Sustainable and Eco-Friendly Clothing Line

lur® is a socially conscious women’s apparel for those who believe in a better world. Their sustainable and eco-friendly clothing line has a comfy casual style that you can wear every day, like hooded tunics and French terry dresses. But more importantly, and the main reason I wanted to promote this brand, is that the company not only provides fashionable clothing, rather their mission is much greater.

One of their missions is to help fight poverty in one of the poorest regions of the world. They create jobs and build skills that support lasting change and have partnered with a non-profit organization (Miracles in Action) and a vocational center in Santa Cruz, Guatemala to build these accessories from 100% recycled materials. About half of their fiber content consists of pre-consumer cotton scraps from commercial apparel and textile facilities, while the other half comes from post-consumer plastic bottles recycled into polyester fiber.

Students at the vocational center use the accessories to hone their skills while getting paid for everything they produce. The end result is they have the skills to better support their family – and they offer the products online and in store to us. And better yet, every item sold keeps waste out of landfills.

You Can Help

Now for every item you purchase online, they will provide a full week of valuable, life-changing, vocational training to a Santa Cruzeña in need. With our help, the women of Santa Cruz la Laguna will learn the skills they need to support themselves and their families, and rise out of poverty.

Be sure to check out their new line of rope scarves and flower pins. They are made in several beautiful colors and patterns.  Read more about how they make it and why they make it, including more information about the vocational program and their nonprofit partners.
