Lur Fashion: Giving Back

Lur Fashion  –  great way of Giving Back during the holidays!

Lur Fashion-Give Back (477x500)

My granddaughter, Jacinda, is wearing this “oh so cute” Luna Flower Pin and loving it!  As a teen “fashionista” her approval speaks volumes!

Lur Apparel is made from 100% recycled materials to make a soft and comfortable fabric from which pins and apparel such as this are made.  This Luna Flower Pin is part of the new line of accessories that are handmade by people in the training program of the CECAP (Centro de Capacitacion) vocational center in Santa Cruz la Laguna, Guatemala.  The goal of lur apparel is to provide products that are beautiful, sustainable and socially responsible.  The founder of lur apparel, Mark Heiman, says, “If you always do what you’ve always done, you will always get what you’ve always got.”  The value statement of the company is impressive “the essence of sustainability means holding ourselves accountable for the total impact we have on the world for current and future generations”.  On their website is a pie chart “How We Make It” that explains how they take old plastic bottles and cloth that becomes beautiful clothing and accessories that are eco-friendly for people and the planet.   A visit to their website will inspire you!

If you are interested in helping fight poverty in one of the most impoverished regions of the world, and would like to see and purchase the Luna Flower Pin or similar products, you can visit their website www.lurapparel.com.  They have tunic tops, scarves, jackets, pants, leggings, dresses, skirts, casual wear (tees, hoodies and pants), and other products.  What a great way to Give Back throughout the year, and especially during the holiday season by wearing it forward!
