So, this is new to me, so I wanted to share it. My daughter LOVES making pancakes. She’s four years old and I let her put in all the ingredients and mix the batter. She actually knows where everything is that we need and she gets it all out, including her stool, when it’s time to make them. In the past, I would make the pancakes and then when she got a hold of them we would use cookie cutters to make shapes.  My husband and I would end up eating all the little scraps… no fun.  Well, today, I attempted these cookie cutter shaped pancakes on a complete whim and it worked! Here’s how I did it! So easy!

  • Pancake batter
  • Metal cookie cutters
  • Nonstick pan
  • Tongs
  • Spatula
  • Butter

First, heat the nonstick pan. Add a pat of butter and let it melt. Swirl it around the pan so that the area is covered.

Place your cookie cutter(s) directly on the pan. Carefully fill each metal cookie cutter with batter. Wait one minute and remove the cookie cutter with tongs. Be careful! It’s hot! The shape will remain.

Flip the pancake over to cook for another minute on the other side.

That’s it! My daughter loved it and I’m not stuck with the scraps! We made snowflake pancakes this morning. You can change up your cookie cutters depending on the holiday or occasion.  It’s a fun and easy way to get creative at breakfast! Hope you try it!
